What is a volume collection?

A volume collection is a service we provide which is priced depending on the size of your waste and how much space it'd take up in our vans. These collections can include all types of waste from generic household items such as furniture to garden waste. With multiple packages available to see which one suits you best.

Please Note: Each of our bookings come with a weight, volume and labour time cap.

Once one of the 3 caps are reached, your booking has been fulfilled.

We complete 100's of job's and our work is scheduled with these numbers in mind.

This means that if your booking is incorrect, we may not be able to provide extra labour or take all of your waste in a single visit.

General Household Appliances

Large Appliances

  • Washing Machines, Dishwashers, Dryers and Cookers are each considered as 1 yard
  • Single Door Ovens class as 1 yard

Please note:

  • All Appliances need to be disconnected prior to the collection.
  • Aga/Range Ovens need to be specially quoted, you can feel free to click here to email us with an image of your item along with your postcode, so we can quote you accurately.

Small Appliances

With any general small appliance, consider lighter and portable items in your home that are easy to lift and don't require installation. Please follow the below:

  • We advise you place all small appliances (Airfryers, Steam Cleaners, Hoovers, Kettles and Toasters) in standard refuse sacks.

Please note: Anything up to 5 standard refuse sacks are equivalent to 1 yard

Microwaves

  • Each microwave is considered 0.5 yards

TV's and Monitors

TV's and Monitors

  • TV's and Monitors are each considered a minimum of 1 yard

Please note: TV's and Monitors need to be selected as an additional extra

TV's and Monitors contain an additional recycling cost due to containing hazardous materials such as mercury and lead, which have to be removed using special processes at the recycling centre.

Bed Bases

Single, Double, King, Queen and Metal Bed Bases

  • Single, Double, King, Queen and Metal Bed Bases are each considered as 1 yard

Please note:

  • All bed bases need to be disassembled prior to the collection.
  • Bunk Beds are considered as 2 yards.

Mattresses

Single, Double, King and Queen Mattresses

  • All mattresses (Single, Double, King and Queen) are each considered as 1 yard.

Please note: Mattresses need to be selected as an additional extra

Mattresses contain additional recycling costs due to it's structure containing materials such as metal, foam and fabric, which are difficult to separate. This means they must go through an unique process at the recycling centre.

Sofa's

Armchairs, Love Chairs, 2-seater, 3-seater, Corner Sofa

  • An Armchair is considered as 1 yard.
  • Love Chairs are each considered as 2 yards.
  • 2-Seater Sofa is considered as 2 yards.
  • 3-Seater Sofa is considered as 3 yards.
  • When booking Corner Sofa's treat each seat as 1 yard. For example: A 4-seater corner sofa is 4 yards.

Please note: All sofa's need to be selected as an additional extra under 'upholstered items'

This is because they contain POPs (Persistent Organic Pollutants) which means they must go through a special process at the recycling centre.

Recliners and Dining, Office, Garden Chairs

  • Recliners are each considered as 1 yard.
  • Garden and Office chairs are each considered a minimum of 1 yard.
  • Bean Bags are each considered as 1 yard.

Please note: All the above (excluding Garden Chairs) need to be selected as an additional extra under 'upholstered items'

Dining Chairs

  • Dining Chairs are each considered a minimum of 1 yard.

Please note: Cushioned or padded Dining Chairs need to be selected as an additional extra under 'upholstered items'

This is because the materials they are made from contain POPs (Persistent Organic Pollutants) which means they must go through a separate process at the recycling centre.

Fridges/Freezers

Commercial, Domestic and American-Style

Domestic Fridges

  • Under Counter, Upright and Hidden Styled Fridges/Freezers are each considered as 1 yard.
  • Chest Freezers are each considered as 1 yard (anything longer than a standard household chest freezer, please feel free to click here to email us with an image of your item along with your postcode, so we can quote you accurately).

Please note: All domestic fridges/freezers need to be selected as an additional extra.

Fridges/Freezers contain an additional recycling cost due to them containing greenhouse gases (such as CFCs, HCFCs and HCFs), which means they must go through a special process at the recycling centre.

Commercial and American-Style Fridges/Freezers

  • Commercial and American-Style Fridge/Freezers need to be specially quoted, please feel free to click here to email us with an image of your item along with your postcode, so we can quote you accurately.

  • Corner, Metal and Single Wooden Shelves are all considered as 1 yard each.

Additional Extras

More About Additional Extras

Additional Extras are a list of items which carry a further cost. This is usually down to either the materials they are made from or structure, which means they must go through a special process at the recycling centre.

If you need any of the items below clearing, you will be subject to an additional charge:

  • Upholstered Items (Sofas, Armchairs, Office Chairs, Recliners, Fabric Beds, Bean Bags, Love Chairs, Cushioned/Padded Dining Chairs)
  • Mattresses
  • Domestic Fridge/Freezer
  • TV/Monitor's
  • Gas Bottles

Extra Labour

Please note: Before booking, please be sure to check the time and weight caps of your volume collection. If you exceed either of these, you will be subject to an extra labour cost.

This might be because:

  • Access is poor. This could vary from parking restrictions, the location of your property or access being difficult inside.
  • Your waste exceeds the weight cap.
