Festival & Event Season is Coming !!!

Festivals & Events across Yorkshire

Here at Clearance And Clean Up Ltd we manage waste for a lots of different types of events to include.

  • Music Festivals.
  • Marathons.
  • Car Shows.
  • Motorbike Shows.
  • Charity Runs.

The above is just to name a few.

The main thing that all these events have in common is they all produce large amounts of waste and need a carefully managed waste management plan.

Some of the main things that effect the amount of waste and how its managed are

  • Camping or not camping.
  • Customer type attending ( Families , Groups etc)
  • Food & Drink.
  • Access onto the site.
  • Length of the festival or the event.
  • Weather.

Some I'm going to through the above in more detail with regards to Festivals & Events Yorkshire.

Camping Yes Or No

In my opinion of doing 100s of events this can make the biggest difference. This is mainly because people bring their own food and beverages from home and are on site for a greater length of time so this increases the volume of waste.

Customer Type

This depend if this is a family event or a music event aimed at people in their 20s  and this can make a huge difference to the volume of waste that is generated.

Food & Beverage

Most of this can be reduces with some careful planning and comes down to what is being serviced at any particular event. Cup returns are a good idea and can reduce cup waste hugely. Making sure items are also sold with the minimum amount of packaging.

Access To site.

Is their certain restrictions can we get a bin lorry or large skip wagon onsite is the road wide enough can that small bridge take the weight? If not this can make it a whole different ball game.

Length of the Event Or Festival

This is pretty straight forward the longer the event or festival the more waste you are likely to produce.

Weather.

This can be huge it Rains all the time during festivals & Events Yorkshire customer stay away this also makes access and moving round the site harder if its on a soft surface and can bring big problems without the correct planning.
